you are so beautiful to us, we want to lock you in our house

Yepp~ I wish I could lock up all these kids & their wardrobes in my house and then reference them when I need my daily dose of inspiration. BUT, I guess pictures will have to do! (By the way, I was making reference to the song above in not some sort of wierdo that wishes to lock people up ;D )

So you know how at school there is always that one person you wish you could go shopping with, because no one owns anything similar to what they wear? Well if you don't, meet Jean! I absolutely adore his outfits and he's a master at combining patterns & colors. Here, I feel like the mustard yellow skirt brings the whole outfit together. &I am definitely digging the grandma-esqe vibe going on.

Again, perfect example of mixing colors and wonderfully seasonal too! She managed to do that by picking a neutral top/skirt and then that allowed her to go crazy with her 'accessories'. One of those accessories being thigh-highs, which have been my new obsession lately. &though they can come off a bit too sexy sometimes she managed to make them look cute.

Not to self: You can NEVER go wrong with Betsey Johnson!<3 Rachel is wearing a polkadot BJ dress along with the most perfect blazer I have laid my eyes on. And like anything remotely cute, she topped it off with a pink bow.

turn your face back on and crack a smile

Soon to be Skeleton head amulets, made by  Mrs. Kerpoe (my Art Comp I teacher).

So I've been on the search for some statement accessories for spring, and though I am not a big accessory junkie I do like to keep a couple of unique pieces to throw on when needed. A couple of weeks ago, my ArtI teacher came around showing us these awesome skeleton amulets ~and I had to restrain myself from acting like a three year old and yelling "MINE, MINE!!!" Now usually I don't really dig skeleton anything because they tend to come off gothicy (not that there is anything wrong with that, just not my style) but these were so unique and somewhat more reminiscent to rockabilly styles. When paired with a simple white tee, some dark wash skinnies or a long dark colored flowy skirt, plus some killer heels. YESSSSS, win win win. Hopefully I manage to get my hands on one of these babies soon!

let's just stop and think, before I lose face

First post, woooooo!
So first off, I would like to give a little background on the name of my blog and such.
Why 'The Mean Reds Remedy'?
The mean reds is a term Holly Golightly, from the book Breakfast at Tiffany's, used to describe a sense of angst, worry, stress, and everything in between. So what did she do to rid herself of the mean reds? Well she walked into Taffany's and there, for that instant everything seemed alright. I feel like everyone has their own remedy for the mean reds, whether thats coffee, exercising, reading, or sitting down with half a gallon of Edy's French Silk ice cream in your leopard print snuggie watching reruns of  'I Love Lucy'. Whatever it is, I would like for THIS to become something others and myself can go to, to rid our minds of those terrible mean reds with fashion, art, & music.

What prompted me to start blogging?
Well I currently follow a good bit of blogs already, and I have kinda sorta attempted to create one myself once or twice, though I never followed through. BUT, there is a catch this time! I will be selling my soul to the blogging gods because THIS time it is for a grade that I will be needing to graduate high school. dumdumdummmmm. Because my school has decided it is neccessary for every senior to complete a Senior Project in order to graduate. In more or less words Senior Project consists of a lengthy essay, a product (for me, it is this blog), and mentor hours. It is okay though, I CAN DO THIS. I hope.....

Content?
Fashion, mostly. As far as what format I will be using will probably vary from personal fashion diary entries, to entries about street fashion, or just fashion inspirations in general. &There will definetly be music (indie for the most part) littered around here. I guess we'll just have to stick around, and see how this all plays out.

About me?
ehh, you'll figure it out(;

And to conclude, I will leave you with a lovely song I came across today. Kinda obsessed with it right now!

As well as my first personal fashion entry:
Just something I put together for church a couple of Sundays ago. The collard dress is kinda reminiscent of a 50's Mom, but the obnoxious sparkly tights and chunky wedges gears the look more towards a 50's mom going through her mid-life crisis. Ehhh, I was digging it!

Accessories: earrings, Betsey Johnson/ necklace&belt, F21/ tights, Kohl's
Shoes: Vera Wang
Dress: thrifted
